JosephTannous, MLT, MHRM, CIC is an Infection Control Consultant at the Emirates Health Services (EHS), Dubai, UAE with 17 years of experience in Infection Prevention and Control. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and a master’s degree in Hospital Risk Management. He embarked on his IPC journey in 2007 at the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA), KSA as Infection control coordinator for the infection control program, which is also the Infection Control Centre for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and a WHO collaborating center. In 2016, he joined the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) as Infection Control Professional and member of the medical center Infection Control Committee. Internationally, he participated in many WHO missions as Infection Control advisor for assessment of Ebola Virus Disease preparedness and response capacities in Morocco, Lebanon, and Egypt. He joined the USAID/AUB nation-wide approach to strengthen the Infectious Diseases Emergency Preparedness and Response plans within hospitals across Lebanon. Furthermore, he joined WHO in standardizing the infection control practices among governmental and private hospitals across Lebanon. He attended multiple international Infection Control conferences where he presented IC related research and studies. He organized, moderated and presented in many Infection Control Courses and workshops and has many IC related publications.
