Donna Russell MBA, BSN, RN, CIC, CPH, CHEP serves as the HAI/AR Infection Prevention Program Manager, supporting a diverse team of 16 regionally assigned Infection Preventionist, and 4 healthcare educators. Ms. Russell began her career as a Registered Nurse in 1993, practicing in Critical Care, Organ Procurement and Emergency Department settings. She has returned to university many times, completing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010, a Master of Business Administration – Health Care Management in 2018 and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health – Infection Prevention tentatively graduating in 2025. Ms. Russell has specialized in Infection Prevention and Control for 13 years, first in an acute care setting, transitioning to public health in 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to support Infection Prevention and Control in Long Term Care Facilities. She has maintained board Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) since 2014, Certification in Healthcare Emergency Preparedness (CHEP) and most recently attained the Certification in Public Health - Provisional. Ms. Russell has served as Secretary and President-Elect for the Middle Tennessee Association of Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) Chapter #85.
