My name is Amy Kinzler, MS, CIC and I am an Infection Preventionist at UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh, PA. I entered the field of Infection Prevention in 2021 with a background focused in microbiology and virology. I have 6 years of laboratory research experience between a food safety microbiology laboratory, as well as a pediatric infectious diseases laboratory with a focus on respiratory and gastrointestional pathogens. I started as an Infection Preventionist after obtaining my Masters of Science in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health in 2021. In the summer of 2023, I obtained my Certification in Infection Control (CIC).
