Amy Amato is the Clinician of Operations for the Women’s Center Operating Room at Tampa General Hospital located in Tampa, Florida. She has been an operating room nurse for almost 18 years, she has been in her current role for 9 years. Amy earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. Although she is proficient in many service lines, her expertise is in GYN and Fetal surgery. Amy and her staff have spent the past year dedicated to lowering surgical site infection rates in Hysterectomy patients and even developed and implemented a Normothermia Protocol to ensure this piece of the SSI Bundle is completed. Amy is passionate about providing the best optimal care for the patients that come into not just her ORs, but any of the ORs within Tampa General Hospital.
