Amy is Director of Infection Control for Mass General Brigham healthcare system, a large integrated healthcare system with approximately 80,000 employees. In this role, she is responsible for the operational oversight, strategy, and management of the Infection Prevention functions at all Mass General Brigham sites, inpatient and ambulatory. Amy has direct oversight and responsibility for the performance of all site infection prevention teams.
Amy has over 15 years of experience in Infection Prevention.
Before entering the field of Infection Prevention, Amy had a career in public health and pediatric critical care. She holds a master's degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s of science in Nursing degree from Simmons University. Amy's expertise was recently recognized in her appointment as a voting member of the Health Guidelines Revision Committee (HGRC) of the Facilities Guideline Institute (FGI), the organization that establishes national criteria for planning, design, and construction of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and residential care facilities. She also is a member of the APIC Practice Guidance Committee.
