Andrea is an infection preventionist at MGH a large academic medical center in Boston, MA. She is responsible for several inpatient and procedural spaces with a focus on assessing and improving adherence to infection prevention and control (IPC) best practices. Andrea also serves as an IPC subject matter expert on an innovative virtual reality training program for IPC in clinical settings; this project is being developed by MGH in partnership with the CDC. Her interest in infection control developed over the course of her thirteen years as a nurse. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Brandeis University and master’s degree in nursing from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. In her free time, Andrea enjoys travel and time outdoors with her family.
