Russell Lampen joined Corewell Health Medical Group Infectious Diseases in 2007. He previously served as Division Chief for Infectious Diseases from 2015 to 2021. Since 2019, he has also been the role medical director for Infection Control and Prevention at Corewell Health West. In 2022, he has taken on the role of medical director for the Corewell Health special pathogens unit (RESPTC).
He is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at University of Michigan Health-West Hospital in Grand Rapids and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA. He has an interest in improving patient safety by decreasing hospital acquired infections.
Dr. Lampen is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
