Karen Torres, RN, BSN, CIC is an Infecton Preventionist at Inova Alexandria Hospital located in Alexandria Virginia.
Karen has over 20 years of experience in infection prevention. She is board certified in infecton prevention and control (CIC). Over the course of her career, she has been Director of Infection Prevention and Control at two different acute care hospitals. She participated in the VHHA Comprehensive Unit-based Safety initiatives regarding catheter related bloodstream infection and catheter related urinary tract infection prevention.
Karen has a passion for infection prevention and control and promoting a safe environment for patients, familty, and team members.
Family plays an important role in Karen's life outside of work. She enjoys seeing the world through her two and half year-old granddaughter's eyes.
