Infection Preventionist

Christine White, MPH, CIC, LTC-CIP is a dual board-certified infection preventionist on the Infection Prevention Resource and Assessment Team (IPRAT) at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).She is a member of APIC, SHEA and MPHA and sits on the SHEA Leadership Committee Taskforce. She received her master’s in public health with a Certificate in Epidemiology in 2019. She has experience practicing in various congregate care settings e.g., long term care, acute, behavioral health, ambulatory clinics, jails, and correctional facilities. She specializes in providing both infection prevention and accreditation education and guidance.
Christine has provided numerous infection control trainings and presentations via online webinars and workshops through MDHHS, Region 8 LTC workshop, APIC Great Lakes Chapter and through a collaboration with CDC’s Project Firstline. She has had the privilege of having poster abstracts selected for both APIC 2024 and SHEA Spring 2023. Her passions include improving equity in public health outreach, antibiotic stewardship, mentoring new infection preventionists, device reprocessing, and cleaning and disinfection.
She calls the Mitten State her home and resides there with her husband and two adult children, including their spoiled pugs, golden retriever, cats, chickens, and axolotls. When not spreading the good word about the importance of proper hand hygiene, she enjoys devouring books, camping, paddleboarding, hiking, sewing, and crafting.
