Dr. Perera is a data manager at the Columbia University School of Nursing with the Center for Health Policy. She analyzes large national datasets (OASIS, MDS, MedPAR, Nursing Home Compare, etc.) to determine impacts upon patient outcomes and quality metrics, particularly in post-acute care settings such as nursing homes and home healthcare agencies. As a data scientist with expertise in data analytics techniques, Dr. Perera has also served as a guest lecturer and has taught the next generation of nurse scientists about health policy analysis.
