Jessica graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nursing education from Ferris State University. Jessica worked as an adult neuroscience nurse before transitioning to a pediatric medical surgical unit and becoming a Certified Pediatric Nurse. She began working in Infection Control and Prevention at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in 2013, and became certified in Infection Control. Currently, Jessica is completing her Doctor in Nursing Practice in Advanced Public Health Nursing from Rush University. She is a leader in CAUTI and VAE prevention with a focus on pediatric intensive care and medical/surgical inpatient units. Jessica has previously presented at local APIC chapters, presented posters at national APIC and National Solutions for Patient Safety conferences, and is a published author.
