Helen Wood received a BSN from Barnes College at the University of Missouri St. Louis, Mo. and a MA in Health Services Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Mo. She has worked at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. for 35 years, 14 of which are in Infection Prevention. Her focus has been managing the Infection Prevention program and retention of IP Specialists utilizing innovative idea to ensure a successful program. Working to enhance the education of healthcare workers has been a key interest for Helen as well as mentoring and growing new leaders in the field of IP. In 2019, Helen received recognition as a Fellow of APIC. Helen has presented posters at national meetings.
