Aarikha graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Biology-Microbiology, minor Chemistry from Georgia State University in 2006. In 2008, she graduated with Masters in Public Health(MPH) Epidemiology from University of Arizona. In 2007, she joined the Arizona Department of Health Services(ADHS), as an Epidemiologist , and then the Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI) Manager. She worked in outbreak response, emergency preparedness, surveillance. In 2011, Aarikha joined Banner Health as an infection preventionist (IP) at a 549 bed, general medical/surgical facility. She received her IP certification in 2014 and Fellow in APIC in 2016. Aarikha promoted to IP Regional Director and has led the systemwide SSI Prevention Bundle.She has published journal articles, received a Society of Healthcare Epidemiology (SHEA) Scholarship. Aarikha is passionate about fostering a culture of safety, using evidence guidelines and data to direct IP practice and standardization.
