Julia Thomas, CIC, MAOM, MT (ASCP) is currently an Infection Preventionist at Memorial Hermann in the Texas Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, based in Houston, Texas. Julia holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management and is a certified Medical Technologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She began her career in clinical microbiology and proficiently transitioned to the field of infection prevention.
Julia began her infection prevention career in 2013 in acute care. Currently, her focus includes infection prevention strategies in operating rooms, sterile processing, procedural areas and food and nutrition services. Julia is ServSafe certified to illustrate her dedication and support of fostering partnerships with FANS in the hospital setting. Her expertise has been valued as she trains novice infection preventionists in the Memorial Hermann system. Julia also participates and supports many workgroups throughout the hospital system and facility to improve quality and patient safety.
