Linda McKinley, RN, PhD, MPH, CIC, FAPIC is a research health scientist at the VA Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. McKinley has three decades of experience as an Infection Preventionist (IP). She’s held numerous local and national APIC positions including chapter president in Wisconsin and the national Board of Directors. She is recipient of the APIC Chapter Leadership Award and the SHEA Advanced Practice IP award. She’s served within the VA on national infection control initiatives and received the 2022 VA Excellence in Infection Prevention and Control Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. McKinley has been a speaker at local, state, national and international conferences and has mentored public health graduate students. She’s authored numerous conference abstracts resulting in scientific publications. She served on the AJIC editorial board, Associate Section Editor of APIC Text, and a scientific reviewer for several journals including AJIC. Dr. McKinley leads VA infection control research.
