Connie Steed, RN, MSN CIC, FAPIC, Infection Prevention consultant, has contributed to clinical practice, education, and research in the field of infection prevention for more than 40 years. She has worked in healthcare organizations across the continuum of care, most recently as the Corporate Director of Infection Prevention at Prisma Health (SC). Connie has served APIC on several committees and the APIC Board of Directors as a Director, Secretary, and President (2020). Connie is serving on the CDC Occupational Health and Isolations Precautions Guideline(s) work groups. Connie has been the recipient of awards for her leadership and clinical achievements including the APIC President’s Distinguished Service Award (2018). She has authored several texts and abstracts and has been invited faculty to state, national and international conferences. Connie received her BSN and MSN in Nursing from Clemson University and is trained in change acceleration strategies.
