Balinda John-La Borde RN, MSN, CIC is an infection Preventionist at NYC H+H/ Woodhull. She has been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years with a background in adult acute care and 4 years in Infection Prevention and Control. She has been intricately involved in outbreak investigations, the COVID-19 Pandemic preparation and the implementation of strategies to prevent cross-transmission of SARS-CoV-2 virus in the healthcare setting. She is the lead Infection Preventionist in the interdisciplinary approach to reducing HAIs at Woodhull.
She obtained her Bachelors of Nursing from the City University School of Professional Studies in New York City, and her Masters Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain University with emphasis in Population Health. She is board certified in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC).
She is passionate about education, and preventing infections in the hospital environment.
