Session Description: This session will describe the development of the Ethical Infection Prevention and Control (EIPAC) decision-making framework. The framework helps healthcare professionals along with the Infection Preventionists (IP) work through complex ethical infection related situations and questions, helping to select the most appropriate course of action for the situation. The framework can be utilized in multiple practices settings and for a variety of issues. This session will include scenarios in which the framework can be applied to help reach a decision that supports the best outcome for the situation.

  • Describe the development of the Ethical Infection Prevention and Control (EIPAC) decision-making framework.
  • Describe the application of the EIPAC framework in multiple practice settings.
  • Determine how the EIPAC framework can be applied in the infection prevention and control program in your practice settings.
