This session focuses on the development of Infection Prevention and Control in-service education and training curricula for healthcare workers. Following the approval of a Global Strategy on IPC by the 75th World Health Assembly in May 2022, this talk outlines the necessity for IPC curricula across all levels of healthcare education, emphasizing the development of IPC in-service curricula. The session underscores the urgency of enhancing IPC knowledge, skills, and behaviours among all healthcare workers to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care, in alignment with the WHO's IPC global strategy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify Core Components for Effective IPC Programmes: Learn about the core components for establishing and strengthening IPC programmes at national and facility levels, emphasizing the need for competent IPC professionals and healthcare workers versed in IPC practices.
