Dorine Berriel-Cass, MA, BSN, RN, CIC, FAPIC is currently the System Director for Corewell Health West located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She leads and oversees the infection prevention program for a large medical center, 7 regional hospitals, 2 LTC facilities and over 250 ambulatory practices. Dorine has passionately mentored and led infection prevention teams for over 30 years. She has been a member of the Association of Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC) since 1992 and was recognized by APIC in 2007 as a “Hero of Infection Prevention”. Locally she has served in various positions including the President of APIC-Great Lakes (2013, 2017). She currently is serving as President-Elect for APIC-GL. Nationally, Dorine served as a member of the APIC Professional Development Committee (2014-2016), an At-Large Director on the APIC Board of Directors (2019-2021), APIC Board Liaison to CBIC (2020), APIC Audit Committee (2020-2021), Senior Advisor, APIC Communications Committee (2021), and a member of the Performance Outcomes Committee (2020-2021). Dorine is certified in infection control (CIC) and is a Fellow of APIC.
Dorine holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Mercy College of Detroit and a master’s in healthcare administration from Siena Heights University. She is a member of APIC, Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America, and the Michigan Antibiotic Resistance Reduction Coalition.
