Leslie Montalvo Gonzalez, MPH, BSN, RN has 12-years of experience in Infection Prevention, currently works at AdventHealth Tampa. Her experience includes over 21 years in healthcare system including Occupational Nurse, and Emergency Department Nurse. Leslie was Professor of Nursing at National University College for 2 years. She was part of the medical rescue team: 7.2-magnitude earthquake, Haiti 2009. Completed OSHA training University Puerto Rico and build the Occupational Program San Cristobal Hospital. She was part of the ABATE Infection (active-bathing-to-eliminate-infection) Trial, that was conducted at 53-HCA hospitals during a 21-month period involving 330,000 patients. Co-author published in Open Forum Infectious Diseases: A Safe, More Cost-Effective Protocol: Universal Decolonization vs. MRSA Screening and Contact Precautions. Active member of the Association for Professional in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) since 2013, and Bay Area Chapter (BAPIC) since 2015. Received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree at Catholic University of Puerto Rico, and Master’s in Public Health degree from Ponce School of Medicine. Responsible for active surveillance of inpatients/observation units at an Acute Care Hospital, collaborates for development/approval for Infection Control Risk Assessments, IP rounds for an outpatient Rehab Center, covering Dialysis Unit, part of Environment of Care Rounds and ICU multidisciplinary rounds, assist with data reporting for Leadership Safety Huddle, preceptor for new IP onboarding, and collaborates with the Vascular Access Team. Leslie is family oriented, member of USA swimming, was part of the Board for Colorguard Team Liberty Middle School as VP of Means and Ways, WaveMaker for Swim Across America for Research against Cancer, participates at the Annual Bolt Run, participates Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, part of the American Heart Association, Swim mom/Dog Mom.
