Rebecca Craig MPH, RN, CIC is the Senior Manager of Infection Control at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary (MEEI). Since joining the MGH Infection Control team in 2012, Rebecca has served many roles as an Infection Preventionist. Her most current focus has been Surgical Site Infection surveillance, serving as the NHSN Administrator, and mentoring staff in the department. Within the past year, Rebecca joined the CDC Project: Novel Approaches to Integrating IPC Education, Workflows, and Assessment for Diverse Learners as an Infection Prevention Subject Matter Expert. Rebecca is also Chair of the MGB SSI Prevention Workgroup, charged with creating standard surgical site infection prevention policies for MGB. Prior to her role at MGH, Rebecca worked in Infection Control in the Tampa Bay area and Miami area.
Rebecca earned her master’s degree in public health with a concentration in global communicable diseases from the University of South Florida. She holds a bachelor of science degree in Biological Sciences from Southern Miss and a bachelor of science in nursing from the MGH IHP. She also holds two graduate certificates in Infection Control and Humanitarian Assistance from the University of South Florida. Rebecca was recently accepted into Georgetown University’s Executive Certificate in Clinical Quality, Safety, & Leadership program.
