Dr. Venkatesan is the Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Inova Health System, a nonprofit health system in the Washington DC metro area, providing two million patient visits each year through an integrated network of hospitals, primary and specialty care practices, emergency and urgent care centers, outpatient services and destination institutes. In this role, Dr Venkatesan oversees expert teams in quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory readiness, patient experience and infection prevention. Dr. Venkatesan has clinical in hospital medicine and leadership experience in medical education and medical staff affairs. After completing his internal medicine residency and chief residency at Georgetown University, he earned a Master's of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety from Northwestern University. Dr. Venkatesan has a special interest in novel approaches to improve healthcare in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
