Steven Schweon RN, MPH, MSN, CIC, LTC-CIP, CPHQ, FSHEA, FAPIC is a seasoned, board certified infection preventionist. Prior to becoming a registered nurse, he was a nursing home orderly. He first became interested with infectious diseases while serving as an Army medic in South Korea. He later worked on the high technology isolation ward at Ft. Detrick, Maryland, home of “The Hot Zone.”
Steve has served on editorial boards, authored / co-authored articles in peer reviewed
publications, lectured / presented posters at national conferences, and authored
national webinars.
He has authored chapters in APIC’s “Infection Preventionist Guide to Long-Term Care.” Steve was a faculty member for the AHRQ Safety Program for Long-Term Care: HAI/CAUTI. He is also an APIC EPI acute care/LTC faculty member.
He is viewed as a credible resource for colleagues, patients/residents, and family members. Additionally, it’s important for Steve to ensure his presentations are meaningful, interesting, and…fun!
