Hannah Fuchs is a System Infection Preventionist at Houston Methodist supporting the flagship Texas Medical Center hospital location and associated outpatient physician offices. Since graduating with a Masters of Science in Public Health from Tulane University, Hannah has been working in the field of infection prevention at a variety of care settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient surgery centers. At Houston Methodist, Hannah oversees the perioperative service line and has taken leadership on a number of initiatives to reduce surgical site infections, including developing an operating room and sterile processing department rounding program, implementing a comprehensive hysterectomy surgical site infection prevention bundle, and serving as a liasion to foster surgeon engagement in quality improvement initiatives in the operating room. She has held certification in Infection Prevention and Control for over six years and enjoys leading initiatives that target workflow modification to support evidence-based infection prevention recommendations.
