Mallory received her PhD in Epidemiology with a prenatal focus from Michigan State University and completed a fellowship in a prenatal research program. Mallory began working as an Infection Preventionist for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in 2013, and received her CIC certification in 2016. She is a leader in surgical site infection reduction through pre-operative cleansing protocol development, and champions work in the hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant populations. In 2020 Mallory became a Lead Infection Preventionist and using process improvement tools initiated a successful hand hygiene program for her healthcare system of 11 hospitals, 5 continuing care centers, and 387 ambulatory sites. Mallory has previously presented at national APIC, local APIC chapters, and is a published author.
