Roberto graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Chemistry. He then obtained a Master of Public Health degree with an emphasis on Epidemiology also at Grand Valley State University. Roberto started his career in orthopedic research as a research coordinator. He started his Infection Prevention career in the Ambulatory setting, later transitioning to inpatient during the COVID-19 pandemic. As an inpatient Infection Preventionist, his role focuses on Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) surveillance and prevention as well as Surgical Site Infection surveillance and prevention, specifically for Colorectal and Abdominal Hysterectomies. Roberto is also part of the Special Pathogens Unit Team and one of the liasons with Environmental Services.
