Jeri started in the healthcare field nearly 30 years ago as a scrub technician and medic in the US Army. She later obtained a BSN at South Dakota State University and a DNP in System Management, Healthcare Reform, and Leadership from Capella University. Jeri has worked in an ICU, clinical research, telehealth, and as an OR circulator. For the last 8 years, she has focused on infection prevention and quality, and has served as a director of a sterile processing department.
Jeri is Board Certified in Infection Prevention and has maintained certifications in sterile processing and endoscope reprocessing through HSPA (formally IAHCSMM). She participates in many AAMI working groups and is a subject matter expert for the FDA and HSPA. Jeri is the founding and current president of APIC South Dakota, and serves other professional organization boards.
