Jennifer Ormsby, DNP, RN, CPN, CIC, CPNP-PC is the Senior Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Boston Children’s Hospital. She has been a nurse for over 22 years and in infection prevention for seven of those years. She has completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and is certified as a pediatric primary care nurse practitioner, as a pediatric nurse and in infection prevention. She is a leader in CLABSI prevention, leading the work for the Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) on Ambulatory CLABSI prevention. She is a member of the APIC Practice Guidance Committee and leader of the subcommittee on Practice Briefs & Tools, with a current focus on Health Equity, USP797 and Patient Hand Hygiene. She has lead and published other infection prevention efforts in high-level disinfection/sterilization, advancement of the infection preventionist (IP), ambulatory and procedural area IP coverage, and surgical site infection prevention.
