Andrea Flinchum joined the Kentucky Department for Public Health in 2011 and became the coordinator for the Healthcare-Associated Infection/Antibiotic Resistance (HAI/AR) Prevention Program in 2012. As the HAI/AR Coordinator, Ms. Flinchum works with all types of healthcare facilities to prevent and eliminate healthcare-associated infections and antibiotic-resistant organisms. Prior to working in the HAI/AR Prevention Program, Ms. Flinchum spent 23 years working in an academic medical center with 6 years experience in Infection Prevention and Control. Ms. Flinchum has been a nurse since 1988 and has received a Master’s degree in Public Health. Ms. Flinchum has obtained board certification in infection control and epidemiology, from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc.
