Influence Is Your Infection Prevention Superpower

Session Description: As Infection Preventionists’ (IPs) role in healthcare continues to expand, it is critical IPs recognize the connection between leading with influence, and its role in producing positive outcomes.

Leading with influence begins with your ability to develop healthy relationships and authentic connections. When IPs engage with stakeholders to solve problems, our behavior can do one of two things – 1) help or hinder our understanding of the problem, and 2) strengthen or weaken the relationship.

In this session, I am going to teach you, step-by-step, how to develop your relationship building skills, transform it into influence, and produce positive results. Using my own failures and successes as a framework, we will explore the different approaches, tools and technique used to repair, build and maintain strong relationships. These stories will hopefully inspire you to invest more time cultivating meaningful relationships, understand the value of human connection, and liberate the power of influence.
