Session Description: This session will provide an overview of the Global Action in Healthcare Network's Antimicrobial Resistance (GAIHN-AR) Module. GAIHN-AR seeks to prevent the spread of highly resistant organisms in healthcare settings outside of the United States, to improve patient safety, reduce the burden of AR, and to contain rare and novel AR before it spreads to endemic levels. Speakers will describe GAIHN-AR's methodology for preventing, detecting, and responding to AR threats and the early implementation of GAIHN-AR in South America.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore the importance of interconnected collaboration and communication in preventing and controlling MDR organisms across different regions and healthcare facilities.
  • Acquire practical knowledge and skills related to the implementation of evidence-based strategies.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the prevalence, characteristics, and global impact of multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRs) within the context of healthcare networks.
