Data Analyst and Epidemiologist

Christa Cook is currently a Data Analyst for the Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Division at the Williamson County and Cities Health District where she does many projects that help analyze surveillance data and visualize, streamline, and automate tasks for the team. Her current focus and interests are on creating dashboards of various public health datasets in different programs such as PowerBi, ArcGIS and Tableau.
She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology at the University of Texas in 2014 and then her Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2016. After receiving her MPH, she jumped right into public health and worked as an infectious disease epidemiologist for over six years in local, regional and state level governments in Texas until she pivoted to her current data analytic role in 2022. She loves infectious diseases and public health and continuing to learn, grow and apply the field in new ways. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, being outdoors and spending time with her family which consists of her husband, two little girls and sassy cat.
