Mary brings over 13 years of experience in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), starting her career as an Infection Control Coordinator. She achieved rapid advancement, becoming a certified Infection Preventionist in 2011. Leveraging her public health background, Mary champions data-driven and evidence-based practices. This commitment led her to pursue and acquire Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) certification, further expanding her skillset in quality and patient safety. Responding to the pandemic's challenges in 2020, Mary returned to dedicated IPC work. Her expertise predominantly lies in acute care facilities, navigating diverse sizes and complexities. While refocused on IPC, Mary's passion for data science continues to drive her, recently earning a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. She thrives in collaborative environments, working with multidisciplinary teams to achieve significant reductions in Healthcare-associated Infections (HAIs), particularly when data demonstrably supports the positive impact. Mary remains actively involved in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) at the local level. She served as the Orange County APIC Chapter Secretary in 2022 and currently holds the position of Social Media Chair and Webmaster since 2023.
