Emma Stein, MPH, MLS(ASCP)CM, CIC is the Infection Prevention Specialist in Lafayette, CO at Good Samaritan Hospital, Intermountain Health. She graduated from Purdue University with bachelor's degrees in environmental health and medical laboratory sciences. After graduation, she worked as a medical technologist in a clinical microbiology laboratory for several years while simultaneously earning her master’s in public health. She transitioned into working for the Indiana State Department of Health, where she worked as the Antimicrobial Resistance Epidemiologist on the Healthcare Associated Infections team. Emma currently keeps up with her fellow infection preventionists by serving on the Colorado Department of Health and Environment’s Healthcare Associated Infection Advisory Board. Emma has been an active member of the Mile High APIC chapter, serving as the Program and Education Committee Co-Chair position in 2022.
