Currently serving as the Infection Prevention Director for Banner Baywood Medical Center and Banner Heart Hospital, Mindi's career trajectory reflects a journey marked by dedication, expertise, and a commitment to patient care.
Mindi's journey in healthcare began as an emergency medical technician, where she gained invaluable experience in emergency care. Transitioning into acute care as a nursing assistant, she continued to expand her skills and knowledge. Determined to further her career, Mindi pursued her RN degree, which she attained in 2009.
Over the next eight years, Mindi dedicated herself to bedside nursing, gaining diverse experience across multiple specialties including pediatrics, PICU, NICU, and outpatient care. It was during this time that Mindi discovered her passion for infection prevention and patient safety.
Driven by her desire to make a significant impact in healthcare, Mindi returned to school to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing and Public Health. This decision allowed her to blend her nursing expertise with her commitment to prevention, ultimately leading her to her current role as an Infection Prevention Director.
In her current capacity, Mindi plays a pivotal role in safeguarding patient health and reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections. Her role encompasses a multifaceted approach, which includes implementing evidence-based practices, providing education and training to healthcare staff, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of infection prevention.
