Regional Manager Infection Prevention

Yvana Rivera Sirtoli, MPH, CIC, HACP-IC is currently a regional manager of infection prevention at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas. She has been an infection preventionist for over 6 years serving a wide variety of patient populations in the acute care hospital setting. Yvana earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Hispanic Studies from Rice University and a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Texas School of Public Health. She has led successful process improvement projects utilizing Lean Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to develop infection prevention initiatives in collaboration with frontline staff and clinical leaders to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Her passion is to learn more about implementation science to test frameworks that incorporate socio-adaptive concepts for HAI prevention. She currently serves on the APIC Houston chapter board and is also a SHEA member.
