Jeannine Blake is a PhD prepared nurse scientist with clinical background in surgical intensive care nursing. Dr. Blake received her PhD in 2022 from the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst and is now currently a PostDoctoral Research Fellow working in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and the Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation at UMass Amherst. Dr. Blake is on a mission to improve patient outcomes and nursing workflow by disrupting the status quo using a nurse-engineer approach to employ innovative research methods and device development strategies. Dr. Blake employs various research methods to seek understanding of the user-device interaction along with novel laboratory-based methods to assess the accuracy and steadiness of fluid flow.
