Infection Preventionist

Ellie Carter, CLS, MPH, CIC (she/her) is an Infection Preventionist at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has been practicing infection prevention in acute care for 14 years. Prior to this, she worked as the Laboratory Program Advisor at the Indiana Department of Health, as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Minnesota, and as a clinical microbiologist at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. She has a special interest in vascular access, prevention of CLABSI, emerging pathogens, and medical supply chain operations. In addition to being board certified in infection control, Ellie is certified in medical laboratory science and holds a Masters of Public Health degree in Environmental Health from the University of Minnesota.
