Vydia Nankoosingh, MLT, CIC serves as the Senior Clinical Advisor for Diversey, Healthcare in North America. In this role, Vydia serves as an infection prevention and control resource and an industry liaison to support the improvement of environmental hygiene solutions and adoption of science-based best practices.
Vydia started as a general medical laboratory technologist with 11 years of experience working in microbiology. She became an Infection Preventionist in 2001 working predominantly in acute care but also gained experience in the rehabilitation and long term care settings. In 2004, Vydia had the opportunity to work on the Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion on the provincial infection control resource team. In addition, she became an external consultant for the University Health Network in Toronto, Ontario. From 2016 to 2021, Vydia was a member of the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC) where infection prevention and control best practice guidelines are developed for the province of Ontario. In 2010, Vydia became the manager of Infection Prevention and Control at Scarborough Health Network, a large community hospital in Toronto, Ontario.
She served as an executive member (administrator, marketing lead and president) of IPAC-GTA (the local chapter of IPAC-Canada) and has been certified by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology since March 2004.
