Tracey Rhodes, MSN, RN, CIC, LTC-CIP is an Infection Prevention Specialist for the Tennessee Department of Health HAI/AR Division. In this role, she provides consultative infection prevention services for the healthcare systems and facilities throughout east and northeast Tennessee. Prior to joining the Tennessee Department of Health in 2022, Tracey had an extensive career in infection prevention for a large healthcare system in Northeast Tennessee. Tracey began her infection prevention career in 2006, serving as the sole practitioner for 2 small community hospitals and an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Using her expertise and knowledge gained through this experience, in 2008 Tracey transitioned to the regions level one trauma center, focusing her primary service on the women’s and children’s service lines. In 2013, Tracey was promoted to manager of the infection prevention department.
Tracey holds a Master of Science degree in nursing with a concentration in infection prevention, and a Bachelor of Science degree in both nursing and environmental science. Tracey has held her board certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology since 2012. Tracey is an active member of the Smoky Mountain APIC chapter, currently holding the role of chapter president.
