Infection Preventionist

Rebecca Hesse, MPH RN CIC is an Infection Preventionist at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, in Minneapolis, MN. She has practiced Infection Prevention primarily in the acute care setting. Rebecca is co-chair of her hospital system's CAUTI prevention workgroup and a member of the system IP Education workgroup. She is Infection Prevention liasion to the Allina Mother Baby Clinical Service line, providing instrumental support and guidance to them during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also serves as instructor in APIC Minnesota's Basic Infection Prevention course and participates in APIC Minnesota's High-Level Disinfection Workgroup. Rebecca holds a BA in Spanish and Sociology from St. Norbert College, a Master of Public Health from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Nursing from the University of Minnesota. Additionally, Rebecca has public health nursing experience and has worked on an NIH funded community health research study. She has had opportunities to present her work at national and regional conferences and events.
