Jeffrey Mantes BSN, RN, CIC, LTC-CIP is the Infection Control Nurse at O’Connor Hospital part of the County of Santa Clara Valley Healthcare. He took his passion for infection prevention in the middle of a global pandemic and implemented a robust action plan focused on IP education on hand hygiene (HH), personal protective equipment (PPE) donning and doffing, transmission-based precautions and CAUTI bundle education.Throughout the past few years, he has continued to drive several initiatives such as education on Enhanced Standrard Precaution (ESP), environmental care (EOC), and Multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) for all staff and providers. Jeffrey continues to exemplify strong leadership and effort to reduce healthcare associated infections (HAIs).
