System Infection Preventionist

Danielle Teran, MPH, CIC, is a System Infection Preventionist for Houston Methodist hospitals and physician offices. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston. In 2019, she achieved board certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology and is an active member of APIC and the APIC Houston Chapter.
Danielle leads and supports numerous initiatives related to process improvement, prevention of hospital acquired infections, and outbreak response. She has extensive knowledge in specialized areas of infection control that include root cause analysis leading to targeted prevention efforts, regulatory accreditation readiness, and environment of care. She enjoys mentoring and educating new Infection Preventionists and has been invited to speak at national and local conferences.
