Chief Nursing Officer
Christus Health, US
Ellie Milo is the Chief Nursing Officer for CHRISTUS Health Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. As a nurse leader she strives to make a difference in her organization and profession. Ellie’s passion is to hear and respect the voices of nurses and team members at the bedside. This is the only way to drive and support safe, effective patient centered care. She began her nursing career over 20 years ago as a Labor and Delivery Nurse upon completion of her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX. During her tenure, Ellie completed a Masters of Science in Nursing from Regis University in Aurora, CO. After several promotions, Ellie became the Director of Nursing and later moved on to New Hampshire and continued as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Ellie subsequently completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer. Since that time, she has served as a Chief Nursing Officer in healthcare organizations. Some of her greatest accomplishments during her 20 years in nursing have been in her role as a leader to hear the concerns of the bedside nurses and getting their voices heard when decisions are made. Ellie feels that becoming a mentor to others has been a rewarding experience in which she is able to see the growth and development of others in ways that they didn’t think was possible.
