Infection Preventionist

Louise has been working in the infection prevention field since 2016. Currently, she is in Rapid City, SD at an acute care facility that is part of a larger healthcare system serving the Southwest South Dakota region and neighboring areas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and worked in the medical technology field until moving on to an infection prevention career. During her time in Florida, she assisted with emergency operations and storm remediation after a devastating hurricane hit her facility. In Idaho, she was the sole infection preventionist for her facility during the COVID pandemic and received her CIC January 2021. Throughout her career, she has focused on reducing hospital-associated infections and developed a passion for preventing blood stream infections. When she is not preventing infections her four children, two dogs and husband’s restaurant keep her busy.
