Marie Wilson is an Infection Preventionist at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. Marie’s extensive experience in acute and ambulatory care as both a staff nurse and infection preventionist in provides her a grounded perspective on the struggles and strengths of preventing infections in these settings.
Marie’s previous roles include an STD and HIV Nurse specialist at a local public health department, a critical care nurse at a large, level one trauma, level three NICU, teaching facility, where she also began her career as an infection preventionist and leader through 2020. Marie attributes much of her professional success to volunteering with APIC, where she’s had the opportunity to serve locally as APIC DFW Chapter President in 2020 and currently as Chair for the Communications Committee. In her free time, Marie enjoys gardening, hiking, kayaking and advocating for reproductive justice and the whales and salmon of the Salish Sea.
